Upload assets to Server

Last updated 11 months ago

For those that want to contribute to the free core library there is an option to sync assets to our server. Make sure your name is set in the author of each asset else we will receive the asset as anonymous. When you upload assets we will receive them in a folder named as the name you set as the author. We will evaluate the asset to see if its within our standards for the free library. Once approved by one of our artist it will be added to the Demo The name you have set will remain as is. Any inappropriate names or descriptions will be denied. Make sure you have read the disclaimer that is located in the Mark Asset panel

Before uploading

Make sure the assets have been rendered using the mark tool. This will provide you with a original preview for your Original Asset and a placeholder Preview. When rendering with the mark tool the previews will automatically be assigned.

BU Upload Asset Previews

This is an optional step but will help our team out getting an asset processed faster. Without this option the asset will upload but we will have to generate a preview for that asset. If you want to use this option and automaticly generate and upload a preview version make sure to set the BU Upload Asset previews folder. Then use the Library Manager to create a preview image using the Render Previews tab.

If the Upload asset previews folder is not set the settings button will turn Red When you click on the settings button a popup will appear where you can set the location.

When you upload to the server our add-on will create a blend file for each asset that you have selected. It will then create a preview version of it and automatically assign the metadata and placeholder preview to it.

Catalog file

You can get the catalog file we use for our Core library from the Library Manager Settings section This will download the catalog file for you. Assign your assets to catalogs by dragging and dropping them on the desired catalog. If you think your asset belongs in a separate catalog feel free to create it. We will evaluate the change and either accept it or put the asset in a catalog we find more fitting

Sync assets to BU Server

Select the assets you want to upload to our server. press the Sync assets to BU Server to Initiate the upload process. If an asset is missing a thumbnail a message will pop up and the process will be cancelled

While the upload is processing a progress bar will be shown on the title bar In the 3d viewport the progress per asset will be displayed. The upload is done when status shows "Sync Complete"

The team will try to evaluate new assets as soon as possible. If your asset has not been added to the library within a few days feel free to contact us on discord.
