To generate our thumbnails we have created a scene that has a general look and feel. The scene has 3 a point lighting system, a camera for rendering objects and a camera to render material. It also includes our shaderball so that you can see how your material works on different shapes.

Where to find the Preview Render Scene UI

Under the Mark Assets section you will find the Preview Render Scene tab

Append

By pressing append the scene will be added to your blend file

Switch to Preview Render Scene

You can click the browse scene button to view a list of your scenes in this blend file. Press the PreviewRenderScene to switch to it.

Remove

Pressing the remove button will remove the objects linked to that scene from the blend file and switch back to the scene used before using the PreviewRenderScene
